Tyler Watts, from Huntsville, Alabama posted a final-round score of two under 70. He shot five birdies to win the 51st Southern Junior Championship with a total of 9-under 207 at Baton Rouge Country Club, Louisiana. Watts won by five shots over his competitors.
Watts' win was another incredible triumph. Just last week, he became the youngest Alabama State Amateur champion in history. The record was set by Gordon Sargent, a Vanderbilt student who is competing in the U.S. Open as an amateur.
Collins Trolio, of West Point in Mississippi, finished second overall with a score of four-under-212. Noah Kent from Naples, Florida and Liam Pasternak from Morristown, New Jersey both finished with a score of two-under 214. Kent won bronze after a scorecard-based playoff.
The #SouthernJr Championship is won by 72, 65 and 70.
