Who it’s for: For golfers who desire more distance and ball speed in a hybrid-style hybrid.
The Skinny A hybrid of distance-enhancing technologies and a classic design, the ZX Mk II hybrid is designed to be an all-around performer.
Deep Dive: Srixon brings the technology to increase ball speed and distance to its new drivers and fairway woods for the ZX Mk II hybrids.
The ball hits the hitting area of stainless steel, causing the face to bend back at impact. Srixon’s Rebound Frame, which is different from traditional hybrids, adds a second flexible area directly behind the topline, toe, and leading edge. This allows a greater amount of the overall hitting area, which in turn bends back to allow it to flex. It then springs back with the face. Srixon stated that this allows for more efficient energy transfer and increases ball speed, particularly when shots are hit outside of the center.
The sole weight inside the head drives the center of gravity down. This creates a more stable launch angle and better distance control.
Srixon modified the radius (curvature of the face) to increase consistency of spin produced by ZX Mk II hybrids. He added a little more loft in the hitting area, and decreased the loft in the lower part.
All those features are hidden in the address position. The traditional shape and simple matte-black head will appeal to all players.
Although the ZX Mk II hybrids don’t have an adjustable hosel mechanism they offer a range of lofts that will help players and fitters to find the right option for them.
