This week marks the start of the race to Thanksgiving. The Sanderson Farms Championship will kick off eight weeks of FedExCup (or fantasy DFS or betting) points. Sleeper Picks The Country Club of Jackson picked up tournament hosting duties in the 2014-15 season. John Fought’s redesign will play to Par 72 at 7,461 yard. This week, Bermudagrass is also on the agenda. Each year, the Champion Bermuda greens run fast. On average, the blend of 419 Bermuda/Zoysia raw is two inches. Over the eight previous events, the average winning score was around 19-under par. Sam Burns will defend the trophy, having set the tournament scoring record at 22-under. Nick Taylor won the inaugural event with 16 under. Will Zalatoris, who was not entered, set the course record in Round 2 with a score of 61. Horses for Courses High Five: Players are only listed if they’re in the field for 2022 and have at least two top 10 finishes. Sam Burns (Win : +1000; Top 5, +1225; Top 10, +1100; Top 20, -190). The Country Club of Jackson is where the Louisiana native felt most at home, as it was the place of his first professional start. He is back to defend his title, and tournament scoring record. In that time, he had 26 birdies and only four bogeys. His total is 44-under. He has won four of five starts. T3 in the 2019 season is next best. Low rounds of 64 (2020 Season) and 65 (2022 Season). Average score of 69.56. Second consecutive winner in Ball-Striking. No. No. 1 all-time money leader. Peter Malnati (Win : +15000; TOP 5 : +2500 Top 10 : +1200 Top 20 : +550) The 2016 season’s event was won on debut. Closed with 63 in 2020. Impressive 22 career rounds were par or better. Six times cashable from seven attempts. Scored 53-under in aggregate Average score 69.96. Putting was one of the two winners in SG. No. No. 2 all-time money leader. Three consecutive weekends of playing the weekend. Denny McCarthy (Win : +2800; Top 5, -500; Top 10, -225; Top 20, -+110) Although he missed the cut on his debut, his four previous visits to the course resulted in T17–T6–T18–T7. After 54 holes, he was one back last year. He closed with a closing score of 73. Two back after 54 holes in 2021. Last Sunday, a streak of 16 consecutive rounds in the red ended. That 73 was preceded by two career-best rounds (65 and 65). In his four last visits, he had an aggregate of 44-under. The best scorer of all is 272, which was the total for last year. Average score of 69.06. Henrik Norlander (Win : +10000; TOP 5 : +1800, TOP 10 : +800, Top 20 : +350). The Swede cracked the code after he had completed T39-MC in the first two visits. He backed up T4 in 2021 with T4 last year, and he continues to improve. In 2021, there were 273 with a closing round 65. It was 268 last year with a closing 64. The worst round of his eight last rounds was 70. Don’t go too early! Kevin Streelman (Win : +8000; Top 5, +1400; Top 10, +650; Top 20, : +300). He has won four of six events, including the last five. T31 was the only finisher outside of T18 last year. 2020 season ended with 64 points. The final 54 holes of the season were played 16-under. In 2018, T10 was followed by T18 in 2017. For solo third place in 2021, shot 70 from the last group. Last year, MC broke the streak of five consecutive paydays. Five of his six rounds are in the 60s, including 64 in 2020 (T11). Only one round of ten was in the 60s this weekend. Hayden Buckley (Win : +10000).: Born in Tupelo. Sponsor’s 2019 invite (T63): Made it to the final cut. Last year, returned to co-lead field in GIR (-20). Three rounds of 67 or higher with 23 birdies, an eagle and 23 birdies. It’s just a way to get more. William McGirt, Win: +25000: A native of South Carolina, William loves Bermuda. Four of the five starts, including two top 10, were won by T25 or better. All 18 rounds are at par or better. All four rounds were played in the 60s for T17. On the PGA TOUR, he has never played a round over par in Mississippi. CT Pan (Win +15000). Streak: He has seven consecutive rounds in 60s. 13-under for T12, 2021. 18-under for T11, 2022. From 10 career rounds, 32-under Average score of 68.80 Luke List (Win : +8000:) T2 in 2017 season was his best in six starts. There is nothing worse than T28, one of his three paydays. T17 included closing 68 to 65 last year. Sahith Theegala, Win: +1800: A quick learner! MC in 2021, but co-led or led the third round of last year’s tournament. Opened with 64 points, but closed with 71 in T8. Only four bogeys were made for the week, but three of them came on Sunday. Keegan Bradley (Win : +4000). Opened 66–65 to lead by two holes after 36 holes two year ago. Before cashing in T4, Keegan had already won 66–65. MC last season, as 3-under (69-72) wasn’t enough to play this weekend. Ryan Armour (Win +15000),: Led the field for Proximity, and was second in SG. Putting en route his 2018 season win. At five, holds the record for largest margin of victory. Only one of his 12 rounds was in the 60s. Caution. Nick Taylor (Win : +8000). Nick Taylor was the inaugural winner of Country Club of Jackson. He posted T26 or higher in each of his four visits. In his three previous visits, he hasn’t seen the weekend. Careful. Emiliano Grillo (Win : +3300),: Never MC from more than three attempts. From those three starts, he never finished better than T35 or worse that T39. Anders Albertson (Win : +50000),: He returns after leading the field in GIR 2019 where he won T5. Nicholas Lindheim (Win : +15000). Three events, and nothing better than T26. All 12 round par or higher. The 2019 season was last visited. Responsible sports betting begins with a game plan.
