Kapalua’s Plantation Course is the site of the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions, which takes place on the PGA Tour. It was constructed in 1991 by Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw, the famed architecture duo.
Golfweek’s Best ranked the mountainous layout as No. 2 public-access layout in Hawaii, tied for No. 37 of all the modern courses constructed in the United States since 1960. This course features spectacular ocean views and some of the highest elevation changes on Tour. It was extensively restored in 2019.
Plantation measures 7,596 yards with a par of 72 and only one par three on the back nine. The course is often shorter than its yardage because of the numerous downhill tee shots, and the possibility that drives can roll out to 400 yards.
We can see the exact challenges that the pros face every week thanks to the yardage books made by StrackaLine, a company that makes detailed yardage books for thousands upon thousands of courses all over the globe. Below are the maps for each hole.
