AUGUSTA (Ga.) — Play was stopped once more during the 2023 Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.
As heavy rain continued to fall, standing water started to pool around the course. The horn was sounded during the third round. Play was suspended for the third time in two days. Official announcement was made by tournament officials at 3:15 p.m. ET, only 15 minutes before the CBS live coverage.
Brooks Koepka leads the leaderboard with 13 under through six holes. Jon Rahm is the second player at 9 under through six holes. Sam Bennett, an amateur, is third at 6 over. Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick and Patrick Cantlay are tied for fourth at five under
Phil Mickelson is one of six golfers who are tied for eighth at 4 over.

After 39 golfers had completed their second round, the third round started late Saturday morning. After three pine trees fell close to the 17th hole, play was stopped for Friday. Augusta National confirmed that there were no injuries.
